Super-Power

Color Kid can change the color of any person or object. He projects rays of colored light through his fingers - each finger able to project a different color (Adventure Comics No. 342). He can make his colors luminous (351).

Color Kid saves the dayHis color-changing power affects Kryptonite uniquely: Due to the unstable nature of the element, it changes to a different isotope when a relatively simple thing like its color is altered (Adventure Comics No. 354 "The Legion Outpost"). Color Kid was therefore able to change the green-K cloud surrounding Earth to blue kryptonite, thus rendering it harmless (accept to Bizarros).

His color-changing rays can penetrate super-beings, proven by the way that he changed the Green-K capsules inside Superboy and Supergirl's heads to blue-K. Therefore, he can also change objects he cannot see visually, being able to detect the presence of specific colors mentally (Adventure Comics No. 351).

Limitations and Weaknesses: While he can change the color and effects of kryptonite, he cannot make any other object into kryptonite, only seem to glow like it (Adventure Comics No. 351). He cannot alter all existing kryptonite from green to blue; it would completely exhaust his power (354 "The Legion Outpost").

Career Highlights:

Adventure Comics No. 351 (Dec. 1966) "The Forgotten Legion"

Color Kid scares away Krypto and BeppoOn a mission to the 20th century, Color Kid scared Krypto and Beppo away by making Stone Boy's face glow like green-K. Later, Color Kid changed the cloud of green kryptonite that was encircling the Earth into blue-K so that it could no longer pose a threat to Superboy and Supergirl. After using the same method to change the green-K capsules in their heads to restore their memories, the super-cousins were able to rejoin the Legion of Super-Heroes.
