Comments

*Superboy was the very first honorary member of the team, made so due to his status as an historical figure (Adventure Comics No. 247), even though he technically fulfilled all three criteria in qualifying for membership. Superboy was made a full-time member at the beginning of the second term-year after it was realized that he was capable of time traveling under his own power and his involvement could not drastically alter fate (Adventure Comics No. 304). He is currently part of the Legion reserve (Action Comics No. 387/2, Action Comics No. 391 "Metropolis Mailbag").

**Mon-El was made an honorary member of the team because he was so admired by the Legionnaires, but his necessary exile in the Phantom Zone made it impossible for him to be an active member at the time (Adventure Comics No. 300, Superboy No. 100 "Smallville Mailsack"). After he was cured of his condition, he could leave the Zone and join the Legion full time (Adventure Comics No. 305). He is currently the Legion's leader (Action Comics No. 392/2).
